Since 1957, we've supported New York City public school students in reaching their full potential in high school and beyond.

Governor’s Committee on Scholastic Achievement (GCSA) is embedded in five Title I public high schools across New York City. We serve students who are less likely to reach and complete college without additional support — support their under-resourced schools often can’t provide. Through long-term mentorship, workshops, and a $4,000 scholarship, GCSA helps students navigate their postsecondary journeys with confidence and community.

"To me, GCSA means support. I have the opportunity to have financial support with me when I go off to college, which removes stress and allows me to focus on my future without anxiety."

Alia Holiday, Student

GCSA matches students with mentors from mission-driven companies who meet with them biweekly throughout high school. Partners also host career panels, workplace visits, and help fund scholarships, expanding what students see as possible.
